We designed the complete system, from seat and backrest to armrests, cup holders and VIP configurations.The ambition was to create a seat that combines comfort and durability with efficient installation and maintenance. Extensive user testing helped shape the ergonomics, while a flexible rail system makes installation fast and allows the seating to be adapted to different venues and needs. The compact design also leaves more room for people to move along the rows. Every detail has been considered to make the system simple to install, use and maintain. Frost Produkt designed the player to be intuitive, robust and engaging for young children. The soft, rounded form gives Hiro a friendly character, with subtle references to an animal that creates an emotional connection without becoming overly figurative or childish. Designed to withstand the knocks, drops and everyday handling that come with being used by children, the construction combines durability with a tactile and approachable expression. Simple physical controls and content cards make the interaction easy to understand, allowing even young children to operate Hiro independently. The interaction has been user-tested with more than 100 children before volume production started. Our involvement has extended beyond the player itself. We connected Hiro with their manufacturing partner and have designed the packaging and accessories, helping develop the product from concept into a complete solution ready for production and market. Design and Development Process Victor teamed up with Frost Produkt and we started an iterative design and development process. Extensive prototyping, involving cardboard models and 3D prints in combination with user testing was employed to refine the ergonomics of the Fjorden Grip. Aruliden was responsible for the visual design, while Frost Produkt was brought in to develop the mechanical architecture and translate the design into a robust, production-ready solution. Our work focused on construction, component integration, heat management and efficient assembly, while preserving the clean exterior and visual intent of the original design. The complexity of the project required close collaboration between designers and engineers at Huddly, Aruliden, Google and Frost Produkt, together with testing and production teams across several continents. A key part of our solution was what we called the “cassette solution.” The complete camera is assembled on an open and accessible internal frame, giving easy access to components and enabling fast and precise assembly. Once completed, the entire assembly slides into the outer housing like a cassette into a cassette player. A bayonet-mounted lens ring completes the assembly, leaving no visible screws on the exterior. Frost Produkt was responsible for the mechanical development of both the Google Smart Camera and Smart Camera XL, as well as accessories for the series. The result is a solution where the complexity of engineering, assembly and production is hidden behind a simple and refined exterior. Huddly is an exciting Norwegian tech company which Frost Produkt has had the honor of being design partner with since its start in 2015.
