Hiro is a screen-free audio player designed to give children easy and independent access to music, stories and audiobooks.
Frost Produkt designed the player to be intuitive, robust and engaging for young children. The soft, rounded form gives Hiro a friendly character, with subtle references to an animal that creates an emotional connection without becoming overly figurative or childish.
Designed to withstand the knocks, drops and everyday handling that come with being used by children, the construction combines durability with a tactile and approachable expression. Simple physical controls and content cards make the interaction easy to understand, allowing even young children to operate Hiro independently. The interaction has been user-tested with more than 100 children before volume production started.
Our involvement has extended beyond the player itself. We connected Hiro with their manufacturing partner and have designed the packaging and accessories, helping develop the product from concept into a complete solution ready for production and market.
Hiro has been well received since launch, with demand growing faster than production capacity.
The result is a durable and intuitive product where form, character and function work together to make technology feel simple, friendly and accessible.
